Dove (Ogham = Aspen Tree)
Soft-soul'ed and supple-hearted, the dove coos to the softest sides of our awareness. When she comes to pay us a visit, it's time for us to settle into the soft down of her energy and take refuge in her feathery wings of comfort. Doves often come after a time of suffering because she recognizes our need for sanctuary. The Celts recognized the tenderness of the dove, and so can we. Look to the dove for healing, grace, kindness and peace. She carries all of these attributes and promises safekeeping form the storms of life.

.. but meanwhile, a female cardinal landed on my deck today.

Last Saturday (after being fired), I was sitting in the living room and a hummingbird appeared in my grandfather's balcony garden. Once again, because i don't let these things go unnoticed:

The Hummingbird animal totem is a messenger of hope and jubilation.

Amazing migrators, some Hummingbirds are known to wing their way as far as 2000 miles to reach their destination. This quality reminds us to be persistent in the persuit of our dreams, and adopt the tenacity of the Hummingbird in our lives.

"Is your happiness found within, or do you seek it externally?"
"What is the source of your joy?"
"What must you do to increase your joy?"
