I'm thinking of leaving my second job...

Con: Less guaranteed cash coming in the door.

Pro: Become a happier, saner, better slept, more well-adjusted human being with time to pursue the career her degree prepared her for that is not constantly being ground under the heel of unprofessional behavior.

Thoughts?

As someone who just quit her day job to look for something in her field, I'm not sure whether I'm actually qualified to give you any advice. Yes, it's important to be happy, but it's also important to be able to pay the bills.

Good luck with the decision-making!

Fortunately this isn't my only day job, it was a second one I took on to supplement the income I had already coming in the door. Business at that job -- an art school -- slows down in the summer so I'm probably going to stay through the end of May and set those cheques aside for the rest of the summer, but not much longer.

It's not even so much about being happy at this point as it is about being stable. I've been working so much lately (my longest stretch so far was 19 days in a row) that I've really pushed my brain to the point of exhaustion.

I've been in your shoes only a year ago. Honestly, it's understandable if you want to stick to the job a little longer for the money. You're not weak if you do decide that your mental health really is getting affected by the job and decide to quit. I wish you good luck on whatever you do decide.
